German-Swiss tax war

Looking for a tax evader, Germany has bought even Swiss bank illegal data. Now Swiss German tax investigators to bring to trial, as in Germany finds delight.

The conflict over German tax evader who deposited their capital in secret Swiss bank accounts has been going on for some time. According to estimates by the German financial administration of the accounts in Switzerland is around 180 billion euro that were never logged on German tax authorities. To get to the name of tax evader, the German government reached for the disputed funds. Thus, in 2010. German tax investigators participated in illegal purchase a CD with data over 1100 German tax evader with accounts at Swiss bank Credit Suisse.

   Economic espionage

The CD was then unnamed person paid 2.5 million but that amount, according to authorities, "has paid" when calling to order evader. But what the state paid now could backfire three German tax investigators. V. them, namely Switzerland this weekend and picked up an arrest warrant under the "reasonable suspicion" of a crime to assist in economic espionage and breach of bank secrecy. German government officials in Germany, though not imminent arrest, but they are currently "not recommended" crossing the Swiss-German border.

                                                              CD worth 2.5 million

The news of the raising of an arrest warrant in Germany sounded like a bomb. In particular, rose to his feet opposition Social Democratic and Green, which is considered scandalous behavior of Switzerland. "When  the dictators and mass murderers fleeing from their countries then they often refer their wealth in Switzerland. But Switzerland does not criminalize them than the German tax investigators," notes Joachim Poss, Vice President of Social Democratic caucus in the Bundestag. He was the federal finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble (Christian Democratic Union CDU) demanded that the German officers taken in defense rather than the behavior of the Swiss authorities described as a "legal".

Investigators get a medal, not jail

The latest dispute will certainly ease the painstaking process of making the German-Swiss tax agreement. Opposition from the Democratic-Liberal government of Angela Merkel, is dependent upon the vote in the Bundesrat upper house of parliament, this agreement is already going too much into the hands of big capital and Switzerland. They believe that the agreement, which was to take effect early next year, in its current form protects the tax evader and the unjust towards those who honestly pay their taxes without the pressure of government.

                                                            Thomas Oppermann

Now the agreement is even farther away, because, as he announced the Social Democratic Minister of Finance of the Federal State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, N. Schmid, air between Switzerland and Germany "permanently deteriorated." Thomas Oppermann, a leading Social Democratic politicians in the Bundestag, is in conflict with the Swiss authorities went even further. He is a German tax investigators in Switzerland threatened with arrest for the proposed high German civilian honor, the Federal Cross of Merit. Improvement of the Swiss-German relations will contribute to the tax or the announcement of the federal finance minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Norbert Walter-Borjans, who said that if he is given the opportunity to do so, and still buy CD with lists of tax evader. "Who deprive society of what legally belongs to the company commits an offense," says Walter Borjans.
