Who's afraid of Muslim Rage?

Image
A US magazine cover (below) screams out the general media slant of the last two weeks: the Muslim world is burning with anti-western anger over an Islamophobic film, with hordes of violent protesters on the streets threatening us all ... but is it really? Citizens and new media are responding, and  Gawker has brilliantly satirised the hype  with alternative images of "Muslim Rage":   Seven things you may have missed in the 'Rage': Like everyone else, many Muslims find the 13 minute Islamophobic video "Innocence of Muslims" trashy and offensive. Protests have spread quickly, tapping into understandable and lasting grievances about neo-colonialist US and western foreign policy in the Middle East, as well as religious sensitivities about depictions of the Prophet Muhammad. But the news coverage often obscures some important points: 1. Early estimates put participation in anti-film protests at between  0,001 and  0,007% of the world's 1.5 bi

9/11: A Geo-political Monster

Image
The victims of 9/11 are not only encountered in New York. The victims of 9/11 lived in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Libya and today, in Syria, campaigns created and wars waged on the back of the most shocking example of the manipulation of fear in the history of humankind. 9/11 was an insult to the memories of the deceased, an insult to their families. The anomalies of the 9/11 attacks have been ably exposed by researchers over the last eleven years, since two aircraft slammed into the Twin Towers just before they appeared to be demolished in a classic implosion operation, since an "aircraft" turned the Pentagon into the Quadragon, yet leaving the lampposts through which it had to pass standing, and before another aircraft allegedly vanished...all 200 tonnes of it, including engines. If wreckage of the Air France 447 was found at sea, then it is totally impossible that an aircraft of similar size hitting terrain would simply vaporise. That two plus two do not add up to

Researchers find most BitTorrent users being monitored

Image
Researchers from Birmingham University in the UK have found that users who frequent BitTorrent file sharing sites such as The Pirate Bay, risk having their IP address logged by monitors as quickly as within three hours of getting on. The team, led by Tom Chothia, discovered the extent to which monitors are tracking users on such sharing sites by monitoring activity themselves over a two year period. They found as they note in their paper presented this week at the SecureComm conference, that virtually all users of such sites wind up having their IP address noted and recorded at some point. BitTorrent file sharing sites work by means of a Peer to Peer sharing scheme. Users log in and download chunks of a file they want from several different other users at the same time who share the load as a swarm. At the same time, files that they've already downloaded are shared with others. The protocol and hosting sites, known as trackers don't differentiate between files that are

War drums in the Middle East

Image
There is going to be war in the Middle East. It is just a matter of time until it happens. Israel has decided that there is no way that it can ever allow Iran to develop the capability to build nuclear weapons. Iran has gone "all-in" on developing a nuclear program and it has become a matter of national pride at this point. Iran does not fear an Israeli attack against its nuclear program. In fact, Iran anticipates that an Israeli attack would cause the Islamic nations of the Middle East to come together and declare war against Israel. Sadly, there is a very strong chance that an Israeli attack on Iran would actually spark a larger regional war. But there is no way that Israel is going to allow Iran to develop the capability to build nuclear weapons, and time for a strike may be running out. It has become quite clear that the Obama administration does not want to strike Iran. So if Israel wants to do something about Iran, Israel is going to have to be the one

U.S. Social Security orders 174,000 hollow-point bullets

Image
It didn't take long for the internet to start buzzing with conspiracy theories after the Social Security Administration posted a notice that it was purchasing 174,000 hollow-point bullets. Why is the agency that provides benefits to retirees, disabled workers, widows and children stockpiling ammunition? Whom are they going to use it on? "It's not outlandish to suggest that the Social Security Administration is purchasing the bullets as part of preparations for civil unrest," the website Infowars.com said. Another website, The Daily Caller, said the bullets must be for use against American citizens, "since the SSA has never been used overseas to help foreign countries maintain control of their citizens." The clamor became such a distraction for the agency that it  dedicated a website  to explaining the purchase. The explanation, it turns out, isn't as tantalizing as an arms buildup to defend against unruly senior citizens. The bullets are for

Al Qaeda Blitzkrieg: West’s Terror Battalions Eye Russia Next

Groundwork for Western support of Al Qaeda terrorists in Russia’s Caucasus region. With the US openly  supporting, arming ,   and literally  “cheering” for Al Qaedain   Syria, it should be no surprise that their support for Al Qaeda’s other operations is now slowly revealing itself. For decades, brutal terrorist campaigns have been carried out in Russia by Al Qaeda’s Caucasus Mountains faction, constituting the backbone of the so-called “Chechen rebels.” Image: Must be seen to believe – screenshot of FP’s article literally titled,  "Two Cheers for Syrian Islamists." The writer, Gary Gambill, comes from the Middle East Forum which regular features the warmongering rants of Neo-Cons like Daniel Pipes and Islamophobia-propagandist Robert Spencer. With the West now embracing “Islamists” (Al Qaeda), it has now begun selling the terrorists’ cause in Russia’s Caucasus region.   While there was a time the US feigned solidarity with the Russian government as it fought lis
