The Real Reason for the Afghan War?

When the United States decided to invade Afghanistan to grab Osama bin Laden—and failed, but stayed on like an unwanted guest—could it have known that the Afghans were sitting on some of the world’s greatest reserves of mineral wealth?

We noted the dubious 2010 claim, published by the New York Times, that “the vast scale of Afghanistan’s mineral wealth was [recently] discovered by a small team of Pentagon officials and American geologists.” Other evidence, and logic, point to the fact that everyone but the Western public knew for a long time, and before the 2001 invasion, that Afghanistan was a treasure trove.

So we were interested to see a new piece from the Times that emphasizes those riches without stressing the crucial question: Was the original impetus for the

In 1983, the Pentagon, USAID, U. S. State Department and the CIA were all involved in the creation and implementation of "Project Democracy" - based on the National Security Decision Directive 77 (NSDD 77) - and this has led to the creation of National Endowment for Democracy. After that, some of the more "soft" tactics used in undercover operations were moved from the CIA and the NED, whose involvement in covert operations and foreign intervention are well established, however.

"[T] he fundamental problem and the question before the people of the region is that the leaders of the United States seeks the imposition of imperial control and semi-colonial regimes, the country of sale,"says Ralph Schoenman in "US Imperialism Against Democratic ME". "The more autocratic and brutal, the best point in American history is inexorable. Whenever people have the opportunity to shape their own destiny, to gain their national independence, to seek control of their own resources, searching for their sovereignty and determining their future, which is inconsistent with U.S. imperialism.   Blackwater's hidden clients

Almost three years ago exactly -- Sept. 17, 2007 -- a cadre of guards from the security firm then known as Blackwater shot and killed 17 Iraqis at a public plaza in Baghdad. The company, long in the public eye, has been known for brutal tactics and as a mercenary for the US State Department in countries where the US has boots on the ground. What hasn't been known, however, is that the same company was handling intelligence ops for publicly-traded US companies.

A top the list is Monsanto, the biotech giant, who The Nation's Jeremy Scahill revealed Wednesday accepted a proposal through a Blackwater subsidiary which "offer[ed] to provide operatives to infiltrate activist groups organizing against the multinational biotech firm."
Monsanto doesn't stand alone. Through a network of 30 subsidiaries and shell corporations, Blackwater-linked entities provided "intelligence, training and ...read more

  Energy War: NATO, Sudan, China

The US is slowly shifting its military needs towards Africa and Sudan in particular. While the Barack Obama administration will force the UN to declare a no-fly zone over Darfur, the US forces in so called peacekeeping missions will establish their bases in Darfur or Kenya and other surrounding nations in order to keep Sudan under its umbrella.

The main objective of the mission in Darfur and the no-fly zone over the region will be to slowly strangulate Sudan's economy and render it impossible for the Chinese to exploit Sudan's oil.
The no-fly Zone will be enforced by NATO forces that will be under US command.
On January 14th, the U.S. Air Force has begun airlifting Rwandan peacekeeping equipment and supplies from Kigali to the Darfur Region of Sudan as part of ...read more

When American soldiers C Company, First Reconnaissance Battalion Detachment, 32 units of 10 Mountain Division, was entrusted with their Chinook helicopters descended in a field of marijuana, it was quite logical task. But what if the U.S. military is premeditated, organized, and especially when it deals specifically with opium?

Afghanistan is now the largest grower and exporter of opium, Afghanistan produced 92% of the world's supply of opium, but what many shocking is the fact that the U.S. Army assigned a special task to protect poppy fields from which opium is derived, and it all just because to protect the huge multi million dollar industry that enriches Wall Street, CIA, MI6 and various other interest groups who make huge money from this hypocritical

  Imperialism and their agents

It seems these days the water is so pro-imperialist campaigns at the same time that it is almost impossible to set aside adequate time for each.
In the midst of economic disaster, there is hyper-militarism, which is literally "out of control." In America the unemployed pile, half of the nation now officially living in poverty, many of them survive only with the help of "food stamp" - but at the same time, American militarism is so aggressive that I literally no longer knows where it first "intervened. "
The focus now shifted and Uganda, called for a new intervention against the "bogeymen" named Joseph Kony, leader of an obscure paramilitary group LRA, kind in Africa - the effects of neo-colonialism - there are

Threat of Permanent War and Nuclear Dominance

The leaders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the gently named but dangerous behemoth dominated by the United States - and history’s largest global military cohort - plan to meet in Chicago on May 20 and 21.

The tiny fraternity of concentrated wealth and power that calls itself the Group of Eight (G8) was to have met in Chicago in mid-May as well, overlapping with NATO. Fearing massive protests, the G8 cancelled, retreating to Camp David, Maryland, chased out of town by a coalition of dissidents, activists and agitators.

Isolated and inaccessible, Camp David is where the “leaders” of the planet’s eight wealthiest countries belong - sequestered and remote, barricaded and cut ...read more

  Middle East Energy War

On October 3, 2012 the Turkish military launched repeated mortar shellings inside Syrian territory. The military action, which was used by the Turkish military, conveniently, to establish a ten-kilometer wide no-man’s land “buffer zone” inside Syria, was in response to the alleged killing by Syrian armed forces of several Turkish civilians along the border.

There is widespread speculation that the one Syrian mortar that killed five Turkish civilians well might have been fired by Turkish-backed opposition forces intent on giving Turkey a pretext to move militarily, in military intelligence jargon, a ‘false flag’ operation.

Turkey’s Muslim Brotherhood-friendly Foreign Minister, the inscrutable Ahmet Davutoglu, is the government’s main architect of Turkey’s self-defeating strategy of ...read more
